Thoraco-abdominal Aortic Aneurysm - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit features two sagittal (side cut-away) views of the heart and aorta. This sagittal perspective shows the full course of the aorta from the arch all the way down to the iliac bifurcation and the cut-away nature will allow us to clearly see the layers of the vascular wall. The first image illustrates normal anatomy showing the normal caliber and structure of the aorta. An inset enlargement shows the layers of the vascular wall. The second image shows the aneurysms, initimal ulcer and also the widespread intramural hematoma .Another inset enlargement reveals the issues of the dissection and intramural hemorrhage in greater detail.
